Human papillomavirus (HPV)

Genital HPV is the most common sexually transmitted infection. It is often asymptomatic. There are low-risk and high-risk types of HPV. Some types cause genital warts, and some give rise to cervical cancer. Types 16 and 18 account for 70% of all cervical cancer.
