Strategic information system (SIS)

The "hardware, software, facilities, data, and personnel" needed "to achieve the most cost-effective system for satisfying [an] organization's [information] needs." In the PEPFAR context, an SIS uses data from Surveys and Surveillance, Monitoring and Evaluation, and Health Management Information Systems (HMIS) to produce strategic information (SI).
