A coordinate system based on a three-dimensional, spherical surface. As a result of being defined in relation to the more natural, three-dimensional surface of a globe, a GCS is considered to be "unprojected" rather than "projected." These x, y coordinates are referred to in degrees (with a reference to East/West (X) and North/South (Y) i.e. 7.48482 E, 9.05129 N).
