A comprehensive approach to care and treatment of a patient after an abortion. Includes emergency treatment of incomplete abortion and potentially life-threatening complications (hemorrhage, sepsis); post-abortion family planning counseling and services, and where human and financial resources are available in areas of prevalence, STI evaluation and treatment and HIV counseling and/or referral for testing.
